Standard visit rate: $250. We believe cost should not be a barrier to mental health care.

Insurance coverage varies significantly by plan, employer, and individual policy. We strongly recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm:

  • • That telepsychiatry/telehealth services are covered under your plan
  • • Your current deductible and out-of-pocket maximum
  • • Your copay or coinsurance for mental health/specialist visits
  • • Whether a referral or prior authorization is required

Frequently Asked Questions About Insurance

In most cases, yes. Since 2020, most major insurance plans are required to cover telehealth services at parity with in-person care. However, coverage details vary by plan. We recommend calling your insurer directly to confirm your telepsychiatry benefits before your first appointment.
Our standard self-pay rate is $250 per visit. This applies to both initial evaluations and follow-up appointments. We do not currently offer a sliding scale, but we are working to expand payment options in the future.
At this time, Valor Mental Health does not accept Medicare or Medicaid directly. We accept UHC, Aetna, Optum, and Cigna commercial plans, plus self-pay. If you have questions about your specific coverage, please contact us directly.

Yes. Psychiatric appointments are eligible medical expenses under most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). You can use your HSA/FSA card to pay for self-pay appointments or for any cost-sharing under your insurance plan.
